What are you working on now?
The days of dark and dusty museums where galleries never change are long over, so these days I’m working on three exhibitions and a major expansion of the museum – all at once! Most immediately, I’ll be opening a huge show about ocean liners in May 2017. It will look at how ships were decorated, what it was like to be on board, and how they represented technological progress and the future – until jets came along and made them mostly obsolete. After opening at my museum in Salem, Massachusetts, the show will go to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, so lots of people will be able to see it!
