I had a double major as an Undergraduate in Exercise Physiology and Education. I then went to Graduate School for Education which allowed me to become a certified Physical Education Teacher for Grades K-12.
In the 1980’s when I was in college there was no major for my current career. Now in most major universities around the county they specifically offer majors for those interested in receiving a degree in Personal Training otherwise known as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. The courses that helped me the most to prepare me for my career were the many science related courses I studied, including biology, kinesiology, neuroanatomy and my most favorite and the one that benefitted me the most, Exercise Physiology.
Thanks for this question and I hope if you are interested in following in my career path that this helps you to move forward in that direction.
