Dear Angelo: The software is called Adrena, and certainly it could be used on a pleasure boat. It’s quite complicated, but over time you learn the aspects of it that you want to use. It is a French product, and requires a dongle (a piece of hardware plugged into the computer that is used to verify and authenticate licensed users).
There is a similar software product called Expedition, which was developed by Nick White, a famous Whitbread navigator from New Zealand. It may not have all the features of Adrena, but I’ve heard it has all the ones that you need, and it does not use the dongle.
